Safety Tips
- Make the determination based on your personal judgment, intuition, and rational thinking if the member you have been connecting with is who they say they are before deciding to take it to the next step.
- Do your research. Check to see if the member’s information is accurate. Plug their name into a Google search or social media sites to determine if the member is who they claim to be.
- Never provide personal information such as family information, financial, and/or home or work addresses.
- If you decide to meet the other member, it is best to meet them in a familiar, public place in case that you need to leave if you feel uncomfortable or threatened.
- It is best to attend the date by taking your own transportation: driving yourself; taking an Uber; or being dropped off by a friend.
- Inform family and friends that you will be on a date and the location. Create a safe word if you need a loved one to intervene due to safety concerns of the date.
- If the date does not go well, and the member continues to harass you following the date, you have the option of reporting the member to the administration. Blind Fate Dating does not tolerate negative behaviors of its members.
- If the situation escalates, please report it to the local authorities.
The online dating process can be both exciting and stressful. If you notice that you start to develop negative thoughts and emotions about yourself, or the process, links are provided as resources if you need to reach out for extra help.
